Welcome to Safe Mains Electrical. These Terms and Conditions explain the rules for using our website and the conditions applying to our portable appliance testing (PAT testing) services.

By using our website, you agree to these website terms. Where you book our services, the applicable service terms will form part of your contract with us.

We aim to ensure that our website content is accurate and up to date. However, we cannot guarantee that all information will always be complete, accurate or current.

You agree not to misuse our website or attempt to interfere with its operation or security.

3. Quotes and Bookings

Quotes are based on the information provided by the customer, including the number of appliances, property location and nature of the work required.

All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by Safe Mains Electrical.

If additional work is required or the information provided is inaccurate, we will discuss any changes to the quoted price before proceeding.

Submitting an enquiry through our website does not automatically constitute a confirmed booking.

4. PAT Testing Services

Our PAT testing services involve the inspection and, where appropriate, electrical testing of portable electrical equipment.

Testing is carried out with reasonable care and skill by competent personnel.

Following testing, customers will receive the agreed documentation identifying the appliances inspected and their recorded results.

PAT testing reflects the condition of the equipment at the time of inspection and does not guarantee its future safety. It does not constitute a full electrical installation inspection or cover equipment outside the agreed scope.

Any identified faults or failed appliances will be reported to the customer. Repairs or replacements are not included unless separately agreed.

5. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

Where circumstances prevent testing from being completed, we will discuss the available options with the customer.

6. Pricing and Payment

Prices will be confirmed before work begins and will include VAT where applicable.

Payment terms will be specified in the quotation, booking confirmation or invoice.

Any additional charges must be agreed with the customer before the relevant additional work is undertaken.

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Customers wishing to cancel or reschedule an appointment should contact us as soon as possible.

For business customers, any cancellation charges will be subject to the terms agreed at the time of booking and applicable law.

Consumer cancellation rights: Where a consumer enters into a qualifying distance or off-premises service contract, they will normally have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of entering into the contract.

If a consumer expressly requests that services begin during this period, they may be required to pay a proportionate amount for work already completed if they subsequently cancel.

Where the service has been fully performed following the consumer’s express request and acknowledgement of the loss of the cancellation right upon completion, that statutory cancellation right may no longer apply.

Nothing in these terms affects any statutory cancellation rights.

8. Liability

Safe Mains Electrical will perform its services with reasonable care and skill.

We are not responsible for defects arising after testing or for appliances, installations or conditions outside the agreed scope of our services, except where liability arises from our own acts or omissions.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or restricts liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Nothing in these terms affects the customer’s statutory rights.
